Health, Safety & Quality Administrator - Andover, UK

To support the Quality & Compliance Systems Manager to implement and maintain the Company’s systems and processes for compliance to legal requirements.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure Organisational Compliance to Health & Safety Regulations including: 
    • COSHH – Control of Substances Hazardous to Health.
    • RoHS – The Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment.
    • REACH – Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation & restriction of Chemicals.
    • WEEE – Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment. 
    • RIDDOR – Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulation 2013
    • PPE – Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Creating and maintaining Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Monitoring changes in regulations and initiating changes required to remain compliant.
  • Coordinate accident reporting and records.
  • Coordinate Fire Safety measures and records.
  • Assist with Quality System, compliance and facilities tasks as requested by your manager.
  • Monitor and regulate Internal e-learning system.
  • Undertake additional duties as requested by your manager.

 

Desirable requirements: 

  • NEBOSH or IOSH qualifications or be studying towards.
  • Have an understanding of general engineering and/or Quality systems.
  • An aptitude for problem solving and the ability to develop solutions.

Senior Controls Engineer - Coventry, UK

Mitutoyo’s MGT (Mitutoyo Gauging Technology) is the UK leader in bespoke solutions to the Metrology market with both UK and Global customers. Due to retirement, we are seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to join our design team in MGT, based at our Coventry office. 

 

From one-off fixtures to fully automated measurement systems, MGT meet the simplest or most complicated measurement challenge. MGT boasts a high profile customer base across the Aerospace, Automotive and Orthopaedic industries but also serve many other sectors.

Responsibilities: 
 

The Senior Controls Engineer will focus on the design of Control Systems. You will work with our Controls Manager and alongside our Mechanical Design Engineers and Technicians on a daily basis as projects are taken from the initial concept through to testing and then delivery. This will encompass all activities throughout the design process including: 

  • Understanding and interpreting customer requirements.

  • The invention of novel ideas (concepts) to meet customer requirements.
  • Critical appraisal of yours and others designs within the design team to ensure robustness of design.

  • Support of technicians in the assembly and testing of your designs.

  • Windows software design in C++.
  • PLC software design in Siemens TIA Portal.

  • Electrical system design and layout using ePlan electrical software.

  • Work from documentation to create cables, build electrical units, build and test PC systems and occasionally wire cabinets.

 

Key requirements: 

  • Experience in software design (PLC or Windows). 

  • Experience in electrical design.

 

Desirable requirements:

  • You'll hold an HND/Degree in a relevant engineering discipline. 

  • Have experience of CE marking.  

  • Have experience of industrial networking (Profinet or other protocols). 

  • Have appropriate experience in the integration of software with control systems. 

  • Experience of fault finding on electrical and electronic systems. 

  • Good general engineering understanding and knowledge.

  • An aptitude for problem solving and the ability to develop solutions for complex problems. 

  • Effective communicator at both a technical and project level to all stakeholders. 

  • Excellent organisation skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. 

  • Have excellent IT skills.

Field Service Engineer - Republic of Ireland

Working independently representing Mitutoyo at Customer premises, this role supports the field service team. The role is managed from our Andover HQ Service centre and covers installation, service, repair, and calibration of our precision measuring equipment.

 

This is a field-based role focusing mainly on our customer base in Ireland, although travel further afield maybe required as well as occasional overnight stays.

 

Responsibilities: 

 

 

Visit customer sites to: 

  • Install Mitutoyo precision measuring equipment.
  • Complete service and calibration work.
  • Undertake trouble shooting including fault-finding, diagnosis and rectification.

 

Key requirements: 

  • Minimum of HNC/BTEC or equivalent in an engineering discipline, or relevant industry experience.
  • Effective communicator, organisation skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Full valid driving license.
  • A location in southern ROI or surrounding areas is desirable for this position.

 

Desirable requirements:

  • Experience of fault finding on mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Have good interpersonal skills.
